Client rapes shebeen queen’s 6-year-old child

Zimbabwe, August 2016

A 32-YEAR-OLD man, yesterday appeared at the Harare Magistrates’ Court charged with raping a six-year-old girl at her parents’ home where he had gone for a beer drink.

Nicolas Faindani was not asked to plead when he appeared before provincial magistrate Tendai Mahwe, who remanded him in custody to August 30 after advising him to apply for bail at the High Court.

Allegations against Faindani are that on July 28 this year, he was drinking beer at a house where the girl’s mother operates a shebeen.

The State alleges Faindani was seen walking towards the spare bedroom in the company of the girl by her brother, who did not suspect anything, since Faindani was a regular patron at the place.

The State alleges after sometime, the complainant went to her mother complaining that she was feeling pain on her privates and upon being examined, it was discovered she had stinking substances.

The mother then suspected her daughter had been raped and when she interrogated her, she revealed that Faindani had sexually abused her.

The complainant’s mother then made a police report, leading to Faindani’s arrest at the scene.

Prince Nyamhanza was not asked to plead by provincial magistrate Tendai Mahwe and was remanded to August 30.
It is the State’s case that on July 21 this year at around 3am, Nyamhanza and his accomplices, who are still at large, broke into the deceased’s house and demanded cash from him.

The suspects allegedly assaulted their victim using iron bars all over the body and stole $1 500 and three Nokia cellphones before disappearing.

The State alleges the now-deceased sustained severe injuries and was refereed to a private hospital in Harare where he later died on July 24.

Nyamhanza was arrested following a tip-off.
